An eBay rant…
The vintage Spirograph set that I bought on eBay was waiting for me today at the Good Post Office. Score one for the seller…VERY fast shipping!
When I got the package home and opened it, I found that it was very well packaged, and the actual item was exactly the way the seller advertised it to be, dried out original pens and all. Well, this thing is thirty-something years old, so I’d fully expect the original pens to be dried up. No matter…I did buy a set of colored ballpoint pens to use with it. And YES…I do plan to use this, it’s not a collector toy that won’t be used. Hell, it has already been used. But all the parts were there, as advertised. Positive feedback was left for this seller. I always leave feedback, as I feel it is important for all buyers and sellers.
And therein lies my rant…feedback. I mostly buy on eBay, although I have sold a few things. I have a 100% positive feedback rating. The number one thing that sellers say about me is that I pay very quickly.
To me, this SHOULD be a *no duuuuh* thing. You buy something using “Buy It Now”, you Pay It Now. You bid on something and win the auction, you pay as soon as you get the notification that you won said auction. I realize that people can’t be online all the time, but most sellers do give a reasonable window of time in which to pay. If you cared enough to bid on the thing, you should care enough to at least check to see if you won it or not. Many “Buy It Now” sellers require immediate payment, which should be simple enough if you are online and, well, “Buying It Now”. This should NOT be rocket science.
But there must be lots of people who bid on things, win, and either take forever to pay, or not pay at all. Otherwise, why such high praise for paying promptly for something that I agreed to buy?
If you don’t have the money to buy something, you should NOT be bidding/using “Buy It Now” on it. How floopin’ hard is that to understand?
Sheesh!
