Tuesday Tstuph

I’m getting very sick of MC Hammer upstairs. Today, he was playing with power tools, and then resumed hammering. His van is parked in our space again, too. I have a headache.
———-
I’m glad that Mike is taking the day off from work on Friday. I am hoping that the oil change won’t take too long, so that we will have time to hit one of the local Best Buy stores. I need to buy a new printer, and I want to do it this weekend. I could not find any locations close enough to Sturbridge…the closest ones are in Worcester, Marlborough, and another one in Connecticut. I don’t feel like dealing with that, so better to go to a local store, one that we know how to get to easily. If I don’t buy it this weekend, I’ll have to wait until next weekend, and I don’t feel like waiting that long.

This is the one that I’m hoping to get. Jill bought this one last week, and she says she really likes it. I’m not looking to spend a lot of money here, and this has enough features for me.

My cheapo Canon color printer crapped out on me. This was a $50 printer that I actually got free when I bought this computer. It lasted several years, but now it’s kaput. Maybe Mike can fix it, but he doesn’t have time right now. When I get the new one, I’ll just put this in our Public Storage unit along with other computer stuff that we might try to revive someday.

I’m not without a printer…I still have Mike’s old HP LaserJet. He’s had that thing forever, long before he even met me. It’s fine for printing things that don’t need to be in color, but I want to be able to print photos. The cheapo $50 printer did okay for that, but this new one will be better, no doubt.

Saturday Stuph

…or “Why I Hate Mauls, Part …oh, I lost count!”

So, we did our usual Saturday thing…Good Post Office and lunch at the Piccadilly. On the way to the Good Post Office, we stopped at the Whole Paycheck store in Woburn, as I was looking for vanilla beans for creme brulee making. I found some…damn, those things are floopin’ EXPENSIVE! But well worth it, though, as they were good quality and smelled HEAVENLY! The real thing is FAR superior to that synthetic vanilla flavoring stuph! Also, you can actually re-use the outside of the pod, after scraping out all of the innards. You can use it to flavor other things, such as making vanilla sugar.

Anyway, the maul thing. Mike wanted to go up to New Hamster to buy a few Powerball tickets, so we got back onto I-93 and drove up to Salem, to the state liquor store near the state line. They don’t have Powerball in Massachusetts. After that, we decided to go to the Sears in the Maul at Rockingham Park, to look for a blow torch for my creme brulee making. This maul is only a few miles away from the NH state liquor store where we bought the lottery tickets, barely out of the way at all.

When I was putting on my makeup this morning, I noticed that I was starting to run out of my Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil. For some reason, I go through that faster than I go through the foundation. I am on a plan where I get BE foundation kits sent to me every few months, and I was afraid I’d run out of the Mineral Veil before my next shipment arrived. They give you two foundations in the kits, two slightly different shades, and I use them both. So I checked the website for this maul before we left the house, and was happy to see that they have a Sephora store there. Mike calls it “the stinky makeup store”, because he doesn’t like the way the place smells. So I don’t make him go in there.

So, cool…I can kill two birds with one stone, and avoid an extra trip to a dreaded maul. We got to the maul, and parked near Sears. Mike said he’d hang out in the tool department and look around, while I went to the stinky makeup store, which turned out to be clear on the other end of the maul from Sears.

All I wanted were some beads…

…but I ended up walking out of Michaels with the following items:

~ A rob and bob studio™ Super Slab
~ A cute Sizzix car die. Now, with the kitty die that I already had, I can make Toonces the Driving Cat cards! LOL
~ A package of assorted colors of 8 /12″ x 11 card stock
~ A refill for my Xyron 150 sticker maker
~ Oh yeah…a box of assorted beads, too!

I also stopped at K-Fart and bought some new speakers for the computer…cheap ones, because I’m sick of having the wires chewed apart by cats.

Masshole Driver(s) of the Day: The traffic light was yellow as I was appraoching it, but I know the timing of this light well enough to know that it would be red by the time I got to it. So I stopped, and it turned red half a second later. Yet not ONE, but TWO Massholes who were behind me ZOOMED past me on the left (on a road where there really is NO room to pass, and both ran the red light.

Where are the cops when you need them? I SO would have loved to see both these Massholes get busted!
