So much stuph, not enough room!

July 26, 2007 By: User Imagechristine (Who am I?) Category: just stuph, ranting & raving & carrying on, sta Comments Off

As you know, I have been in the process of cleaning and organizing my craft area, so I can have the optimum amount of room to get stuph done.

But I swear…my tools and supplies take up so much space, I think I need to get one of these conference tables to hold it all.

However, no room for that here…maybe when we move and I can have my own craft room. That would be really nice…I could hold crops at my house, and there’d be room for everyone to work. But even if it’s just me…I tend to spread out a lot when I work, and I’d love to have the extra table space.

I’m still working on organizing and taking best advantage of the space that we have…but I can’t wait until we can move from here, and have even more space!

Mike says that he seldom remembers his dreams. Oh, how I wish this were the case with me, because I have some doozies.

The following is a bit disturbing, and contains violence and some graphic language, so read at your own risk…

Still feeling a bit blargh over all of the crap that’s been going on. I just wanted to sleep all day. But I did set the alarm so that I’d wake up in time to see Kat on “Good Morning America”.

She did great, but I was disappointed that the show gave more time to a “Dancing With The Moms” segment than they did to this one. Anyhoo, you can read the transcript of the segment HERE. I could not find a video; I hope they will put one up later. I was going to tape it myself, but I could not find a blank tape.

Anyway, I am really proud of her for going on national TV to talk about what this nutcase is doing to her and to others. Nope, Kat is not the only blogger that this guy is harassing. And this could happen to any of us. It is very scary to know that this wacko guy is allowed to be out there, doing his thing, and the police won’t do anything. Only by speaking out and standing strong can we make changes happen.
———-
The phones are blissfully silent, but the fact that I turned off the ringers has a lot to do with that. No calls from collection agencies, doctors, or anyone else. No messages on the machine, either.

The guy who sold us our new car called yesterday, though. Him, I talked to. It was part courtesy call, asking how we were liking the car so far, and part to let us know that the new registration was ready to be picked up. They took care of that for us, no having to go to the evil Registry of Motor Vehicles. So Mike went over there to pick it up this morning, before work.
———-
I think part of why I’m so blargh is that I haven’t gotten out in a few days. We didn’t go out on Saturday to collect mail, since Mike wasn’t feeling well. Then he went into work on Sunday, and I was stuck here with no car. It was also raining out, and the bus only runs once an hour on Sundays. And yesterday, I was just plain being irritated with that stupid forum board crap and the calls from Dr. Pinocchio. And then the letter from the stupid collection agency was just the icing on the cake of a really bad day.

I would like to go out for dinner tonight. I figure that we can go either to TGI Friday’s or Texas Toadhouse. Both of these places are not too far, and are in the same shopping center as Michaels. I had gotten an e-newsletter from them about a new line of papercrafting products from Martha Stewart…apparently, this line will be exclusive to Michaels. Maybe if I can go to see this stuff, and new crafty toys in general, that might help my muse come back.

An eBay rant…

The vintage Spirograph set that I bought on eBay was waiting for me today at the Good Post Office. Score one for the seller…VERY fast shipping!

When I got the package home and opened it, I found that it was very well packaged, and the actual item was exactly the way the seller advertised it to be, dried out original pens and all. Well, this thing is thirty-something years old, so I’d fully expect the original pens to be dried up. No matter…I did buy a set of colored ballpoint pens to use with it. And YES…I do plan to use this, it’s not a collector toy that won’t be used. Hell, it has already been used. But all the parts were there, as advertised. Positive feedback was left for this seller. I always leave feedback, as I feel it is important for all buyers and sellers.

And therein lies my rant…feedback. I mostly buy on eBay, although I have sold a few things. I have a 100% positive feedback rating. The number one thing that sellers say about me is that I pay very quickly.

To me, this SHOULD be a *no duuuuh* thing. You buy something using “Buy It Now”, you Pay It Now. You bid on something and win the auction, you pay as soon as you get the notification that you won said auction. I realize that people can’t be online all the time, but most sellers do give a reasonable window of time in which to pay. If you cared enough to bid on the thing, you should care enough to at least check to see if you won it or not. Many “Buy It Now” sellers require immediate payment, which should be simple enough if you are online and, well, “Buying It Now”. This should NOT be rocket science.

But there must be lots of people who bid on things, win, and either take forever to pay, or not pay at all. Otherwise, why such high praise for paying promptly for something that I agreed to buy?

If you don’t have the money to buy something, you should NOT be bidding/using “Buy It Now” on it. How floopin’ hard is that to understand?

Sheesh!

Well, no response from the asshats at that Braun place…the telemarkeing outfit that called me yesterday and ignored my statement that my husband was dead. It figures…when people like that do wrong, they refuse to be held accountable. I hate them all. I hope their building burns down and they all doe. Seriously.

I know that makes me sound like a mean, evil bitch, and yes, sometimes I am. But if you don’t do anything to piss me off, you’ll see that I am really a very nice person. The mean evil bitchitude only comes out when someone does something to deserve it. And gawd knows, there are enough people out there who have deserved every bit of venom I spit out at them.

Boring, lazy day

Mike went out to get the oil changed in the car…it’s been long overdue. But we’ve been occupied with other things lately, so that kind of got pushed aside until now. On the way home he needs to stop at the ATM at our bank to take out money he needs for the week, and then stop at the store to pick up a few things. Thrilling, huh?

At least that means I don’t hae to get dressed and go out today. Well, I DO have to take the garbage out, since Mike’s still not allowed to do any heavy lifting. But I can just put on some shoes, throw a jacket over my jammies, and take it out. Even in my kitty jammies (of which I have a large collection), I am better dressed than many of the people around here.

I spent some of my PayPerPost money for the first time today. Turns out that Annette, my Stampin’ Up consultant, is now taking PayPal. I used to have to write her a check and mail it (she is in NJ), but I am so bad about writing checks and mailing them. If I had my way, ALL of our bills would be paid online. In fact, I DO pay a lot of them online. I have online accounts with Verizon, Keyspan, Sears, and Capital One on which I can pay the bills online. When Mike does the bills, he insists on sitting and writing checks. But since he’s been in the hospital and all, the bills still needed to be paid, and I had to do it. And, as Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley would say, “I did it MY way.”

But anyway, the reason I am doing PPP in the first place is so that I can pay for at least some of my craft supply addiction. So the fact that Annette is now taking PayPal is very good news to me!
———-
Speaking of utility bills, Massachusetts Electric is still being a dickhead about online payments. The ONLY way to pay online is to sign up for the DirectPay thing, which is an automatic deduction each month. They do not have the *one-time payment* thing that Verizon and Keyspan have. Sometimes I might want to wait until the next payday to send the payment in, especially in times when we’ve had to shell out close to $400 in two weeks for dead cat cremations and urns and all.

I had to buy eyebrow pencils. Yep…I FINALLY ran out of the ones I had left over from my brief stint at selling Mary Kay. At least none that I could find in that Hugh Jass Box O’ Mary Kay Stuph That I Chose To Keep And Use!

I still have plenty of other MK makeup and skin care items, just no more eyebrow pencils. And I really NEED eyebrow pencils! When I was a little rugrat, my younger brother threw a hard plastic wastebasket at me, and it hit me in the eyebrow. Much blood gushed out, and Dr. Goliger had to come to the house to stitch it up. Yes, I Am Old…doctors made house calls back in the 60’s!

Anyway, I ended up with a big scar on my left brow, where the hair no longer grows. If I don’t pencil it in, it looks weird. Even if I go out to the grocery store wearing no other makeup, I still pencil in the brows.

So I bought the tried & true, el cheapo Maybelline pencils. At least the cashier at that fancy French department store, Tar-jhay, will not try to recruit me to sell Maybelline makeup, or anything else! LOL

Should I try out for the QuicKutz Design Team? I have enough of their damned stuph, that I could submit work that uses ONLY their product, and I’d like to think that I’m good enough for them to consider me.

It would be cool to do this…they don’t pay money, but they do give free QK product to design with, as well as points towards more free product. Free stuph is always good! LOL

Now that perhaps my life is getting back to some state of normalcy, I might have time to do this!

I FINALLY tossed out this old chair that used to belong to my ex’s mother. It was a perfectly nice rocking chair, but it bothered me to have it in the house. I was using it at my computer desk for a while (I moved my computer desk chair to my craft table), but it was so uncomfortable after a while.

Today, I’d finally had enough of this damned chair. If it was that important to the ex, he’d have taken it when he left. Being too lazy to do anything else with it, I stuck it out on the curb with the trash cans. Tomorrow is garbage day, but I bet someone comes and takes that chair before the grabage truck gets here.

If someone else wants it and can use it, they can have it. I’m just tired of looking at it, or worrying about taking it to our storage locker until I could think of something to do with it. Around here, people will pretty much take anything that’s not nailed down. Last summer, I put out an old TV that barely worked…someone took it. Ditto the dead air conditioner.

I was taking out some real trash, and I had the chair on the front porch. For a moment, I thought of just leaving it there, as it did look nice there. But then I realized that this would only serve as an invitation for the local FFA™ to sit there, on my porch (that is, if they didn’t just STEAL the chair first!), and that is one of the LAST things I want! So out to the curb it went.

So I went to that fancy French department store, Tar-jhay, to buy a regular desk chair. I got a task chair, with no armrests, which I will actually use at my craft desk, as it’s smaller and will fit better there. The chair that’s at the craft desk now will be moved to the computer desk.

Mike came along for the ride…he’s not supposed to drive or go anywhere by himself yet, but he IS supposed to get up and move about.

Mike is home sick again today. At least he’s sleeping, and not driving me nuts.

I should take advantage of having the car here, and go to A.C. Moore to see if they have that magazine yet. But I don’t feel like it now. By the time I get showered and dressed and all, school will be letting out. There’s a school a few blocks away on my street, and the parade of cars of parents picking up their kids makes it impossible to get out of my driveway.

Why the hell can’t they walk, anyway? This is a NEIGHBORHOOD school, which means that kids who live in this NEIGHBORHOOD go toit! Are they gonna DIE from walking a few blocks?

It’s the same shit with the bus. The high school is a ten-minute walk away from my house, yet I see high school kids getting on an already crowded bus to go to school. And these kids get half-fare passes, too, paid for by us, the taxpayers of Massachusetts.

When I used to have to take the bus to work, I coldn’t get on half the time, because these lazy brats were hogging all of the space on the bus. Some even took up two seats, yanno, the backpack needs it own seat, too! Yet I, as a working person and taxpayer, still had to pay full-fare if I could even get on the damned bus at all!

Normally, Mike goes to the Good Post Office to collect mail during his lunch hour on Tuesdays. But since yesterday was a holiday with no mail, and we’d just picked up mail on Saturday, it’s hardly worth it for me to go out there today. If Mike goes to work tomorrow, he’ll go pick up mail. But if he calls in sick again, I’ll go and do it, and then I can hit the store.

But I really hope he CAN go to work tomorrow. I really hope he doesn’t have this thing as bad as I did.
———-
I picked up a kickass bargain today over at Sizzix.com. It’s a collection of seasonal dies, for most of the big holidays.
