I belong to a book club called The Scrapbook Club. It’s pretty cool…I got three books for about $20.00, no obligation to buy anything further…even though I have.
Anyhoo, a few days ago, I got the monthly bulletin in the mail and the “Pick of the Crop” (featured selection) was a book called “Scrapbooking Your Faith”. Since I’m not religious, I don’t want this book, so I went to the website to decline it.
So, I got the the site, and it said that the current “Pick of the Crop” was a book called “Travel Scrapbooks”, which is something I might want to get. It said that the “Faith” book was LAST MONTH’s “Pick”. Fortunately, I still had time to decline it so that they won’t send it to me.
I looked on the bulletin that featured that book, and on the back cover, it said that if I wanted to decline the selection, I either had to return the card by May 22, or do it online by May 30.
Hell…I got the damned bulletin ON May 22. The one I got today, with the travel book, was more timely…it said to return the car by June 15, or replay online by June 25. So why am I getting these things just a few days apart?
Because the Evil Post Office sucks ass.
But, for some reason, Memory Makers magazine, who run this club, doesn’t like P.O. boxes. I susbscribe to that magazine, and I have been trying for ages to get them to send it to the P.O. box. I log into my account about once a month to do this, but the change never takes. And my magazines are late…every floopin’ month. I see them in stores WEEKS before I get them. Normally, when you subscribe to a magazine, you get your copy BEFORE it is in stores.
I hate the Evil Post Office. I hope it burns to the ground, with only that nasty-assed postmaster in it. I have dealth with this asshole many times, and he is one evil SOB. No wonder the clerks who work behind the counter of that place seem to be cranky all the time. I’d be cranky, too, if that asswipe were MY boss!
Sadly, since it’s the government, and postmasters are higher-ups, the asshat can’t ever be fired. All we can do is hope that he retires or dies.
Pretty much everything goes to the Good Post Office P.O. box now…all of my other magazines, as well as anything else that can be sent to a P.O. box. I might go so far as to not renew the Memory Makers subscription, and cancel my memberhip in their book club, if they won’t send anything to a P.O. box.
I’m really sick of this shit.
