Cool item of the week – April 30, 2007
Okay, so it’s back-dated, as I forgot to do this on Monday. But here it is now, for your perusal!
I have subscribed to Martha Stewart’s Everyday Food magazine since it first came out several years ago. There is also an Everyday Food TV show on PBS (click the link to go to their site, and find listings in your area).
These aren’t fancy, complicated recipes here…they are designed for busy people who just want to get a good meal on the table in a reasonable amount of time. I’ve cooked many of their recipes myself, and have always been pleased with the way they’ve turned out.
The book is a compilation of recipes that originally appeared in the magazine. Even though I have every single issue, I still bought this book anyway, because sometimes, I don’t feel like flipping through four years’ worth of magazines to find a recipe that I feel like making. And it is a very attractive book, which I’m always a sucker for.
If you want a FREE preview of what the recipes are like in the book/magazine, head on over to the Everyday Food Recipe Page. There, you will find a long list of recipes that were done on the TV show, that you can download and try. Keep in mind that the recipes done on the TV show are not always the same as are published in the magazine, but they all follow the “Everyday Food” concept…good meals that don’t take a million years to prepare.
If you like the recipes on the TV show’s website, you will probably like this book.
