I can't has WordPress…
…at least not for this blog, unless I want to manually move over a thousand comments over. There is NO fucking way that I can find to get a RSS feed that has blog posts and comments in one.
The separate feeds are useless when it comes in importing them…comments are treated as blog posts, not as comments. It sucks, and I have a big clusterfuck of a mess over there in that folder to clean up.
Hell, I found a nice WP theme for this blog, customized it and everything, but now I can’t fucking use it.
I fucking HATE Expression Engine. Seriously. Don’t spend the money for a license for this shit unless you really, REALLY love it. And if you are starting a new blog, don’t even go for the free Core version, unless you’re just giving it a whirl. Don’t use it for years and fucking years, as I did, and find that it sucks and that WordPress really is better after all.
Fuck, just use WP already, and save yourself the headaches.
Would it really be so bad if I just moved my posts and not the comments? It happened with FenwayFaithful.com, posts moved, comments lost, but there is nothing I can do about it now.
I HATE EE. They make things a million times harder than they have to be. If you are are a serious geek who enjoys messing with shit, have at it. But if you just want to run a Vast Blog Empire, and not have to mess with the backend of things all the time, go for WP.
