I dreamt of an eagle…
…it was a huge one, soaring majestically through the sky. In the dream, I was trying to take its picture.
This was a first for me. With all of the shit I’ve been dealing with lately, I wondered if this was yet another sign of doom or death. I checked a couple of dream interpretation websites, and here is what they said:
From DreamMoods.com:
Eagles
To see an eagle in your dream, symbolizes nobility, pride, fierceness, freedom, superiority, courage, and powerful intellectual ability. Eagles also indicate self-renewal. You will struggle fiercely and courageously to realize your highest ambitions and greatest desires. If you see a nest of young eagles, then it represents your advancement up to the top of the social ladder. To see an eagle chained down in your dream, represents a desperate situation where you are feeling restricted and confined. You are unable to express yourself and be who you really want to be. Consider also what the eagle is chained down to for additional clues as to what might be holding you back.
To dream that you killed an eagle, signifies your ruthlessness. You will let nothing stand in your way of ambitions and obtaining your goals, even if it means hurting those around you. If someone else kills an eagle, then it indicates that your fame, fortune and power will be ruthlessly taken from you.
To dream that you eat the flesh of an eagle, shows that your strong and powerful character will lead you to great wealth and influence.
And from Dream Central’s Dream Dictionary:
Eagles
To see young eagles in their nest shows you are advancing up the social ladder to the ‘top’. It also denotes inheritances and wise counseling. A soaring eagle tells you that you will realize your highest ambitions and desires. Kill an eagle in your dream and this shows you are ruthless and will let nothing stand in your way. To eat the flesh of an eagle shows that you will have great wealth and influence. If you see an eagle killed by someone else your fame, fortune and power will be taken from you.
I feel more at ease about things now, even though I had a really shitty day today. I thought that dreaming of an eagle was something bad. But it was nothing but a really big eagle, soaring in the sky. It didn’t die or anything.
It’s nice to be able to feel some hope for the future.
