I hate Halloween…
…and I’m glad it’s over! Now I can stay at home in peace, and hopefully, recover by Saturday so that we can go to the Maine Brewer’s Fesitival.
I really wish there was some way in place to insure that nobody knocks on the doors of people who don’t wish to participate. It used to be that having the porch light turned off was enough to discourage this. The problem? We have NO control over the porch light…it’s in the landladies’ hallway. And THEY turn it on and give out candy!
I really should have stayed home last night, but endless knocking on the door just drives me batshit insane. I wouldn’t have gotten any rest that way, either.
Why are we made to feel like bad people because we don’t give out candy? Why do we feel pressured to participate in something that we don’t wish to?
I’m just glad it’s over for another year.
We did go to the restaurant at the mall last night, but I couldn’t eat anything…seems I can only take liquids right now, so I drank a beer. When we got home at about 9PM, mercifully, the porch light was off and there were no trick-or-treaters in sight. There have been years when we’ve gotten home at 10:30-11PM, and had kids knocking. But I was so tired, all I could do was lay down.
I need to go back and lay down some more. Tonight, I am going to try taking sleeping pills, see if they help. I haven’t been sleeping too well, and I need sleep!
