I have a headache…
…so anyone who wanted to help my use my TracFone minutes by having me call, that’ll have to wait, probably until tomorrow.
Part of what contributed to said headache is this next part of the never-ending saga of trying to get my money back from TracFone. I decided to try to open a dispute via PayPal, as I used my PayPal debit MasterCard to pay for the non-existent camera phone. But I got the following error message:
This transaction cannot be disputed at this time. This is usually because the transaction has not yet been completed. If this is a completed transaction, please double check that the Transaction ID you selected refers to a payment that you sent.
WTF??? That transaction IS marked as complete, has been for over a week now. So I tried emailing PayPal to ask why. I TOLD them that I tried to file the dispute via their site, as instructed, but it wouldn’t let me. Could they please look into this for me?
Some stupid guy names “Carl” responded, by giving me the step-by-step instructions for something that I already tried to do. Didn’t he even READ my email?
I did respond, but I’m probably going to have to call them. But not now. Not when I have a headache. When I do call, I’m just hoping that the people who answer the phones at PayPal speak English. All of this broken English BS at the TracFone call center has also contributed to said headache.
I just can’t believe the audacity of TracFone. I can’t believe that they made NO effort to contact me when the package was returned, to ask me if I wanted it sent to another address, etc. Instead, they just kept it, along with my money.
They are criminals, and I hope they go out of business. I IMPLORE you never to use them.
I’m going to order a phone from Virgin Mobile after I get paid this week, and after I use up as many TracFone minutes as I can. They have so many cool phones, that it might take me a while to pick one. I definitely want a camera phone, that’s what started this whole debacle in the first place.
Doesn’t Sir Richard Branson still own all of the various Virgin companies? I think so…and maybe that’s a big part of why so many people love the Virgin Mobile phone service. The impression I have of him is that he actually gives a shit about his customers, he remembers that it’s because of them that he got so rich. I’ve seen him on TV, he seems like a very cool guy. I bet he wouldn’t tolerate anyone in any of his companies giving such lame-assed customer service, as I’ve had from TracFone.
Onto those other liars and thieves…it’s now a done deal, no turning back now. Mike has mailed all of the PayPerPost related stuph that I talked about a couple of days ago. He brought me back the certified mail receipts, and even the transaction receipt from the Good Post Office. Mike sometimes sucks at mailing stuph worse than I do, he’s been known to put things I give him to mail in his desk drawer and forget about them. But I told him that he CAN’T forget this time, this is VERY important. He understood that…even though he didn’t want to take the trip with me, he knew how excited I was to have won it. He had no problem with me going to Vegas without him, and now he’s as pissed as I am over being screwed out of it.
One of the things that we mailed was a letter to the CEO of that company, with a copy of just the letter to Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum. I REALLY want him to get that before he takes off for his happy little road trip next week. I want to put a damper on his fun, kind of like how he put a damper on mine by not giving me my trip. I want him to know what will be in store for him when he comes back from Vegas.
I don’t know how long it will take for McCollum’s office to investigate this, but I hope it will be soon. I figure that my well-written letter, with clearly-explained evidence, sent certified mail with return receipt, will get their attention sooner than other means of communication. We’ve had a lot of success with this in the past…as far as I’m concerned, it is the ONLY way to cancel AOL. We’d been trying to cancel an AOL account that we were billed for each month, but never used once I got DSL, for ages. Emailing didn’t work. Calling them on the phone didn’t work. A certified letter to their legal department…that worked. The account was canceled , and the stopped billing us.
Anyway, now that this PPP stuph has been mailed, and there’s no taking it back now, do I feel any regrets? HELL, NO!!! In fact, I feel even better about it, now that it’s a done deal. Now all I can do is sit and wait to see what happens. I will keep you posted here!
Now, if only TracFone would give me my damned money back already, maybe I’d not have such a headache.
