I was offered the opportunity to receive this product, for free, in exchange for my honest review of it. Since I’ve had problems in finding a place that could give me a flu vaccine, I said, what the hey, I’ll give it a whirl.
This is a natural dietary supplement, the primary ingredient being elderberry, which is said to work well to boost the immune system. Elderberry is not a fruit that I can find at the local Stop & Shop, I don’t even know where they grow.
Okay, so I told the makers of this product, sure, send me some of this product, I will use it, and give you an honest review. Now, you know me…if something sucks, I will come out and say so, whether I received compensation, free product, or not.
So we were headed up to Portland for the Maine Brewers Festival, and on the way, we stopped at The Good Post Office to collect mail. A package was there, it was my Respiratory Guard supplements. I was happy to get them, as the Maine Brewfest is always MOBBED with people, it sells out every single year, and since I didn’t get my flu vaccine yet this year, I was scared of catching something. Before I started getting flu shots, I’d get sick around this time Every. Single. Year. I’d literally be flat on my back, except for when I was gacking in a bucket, for weeks on end.
So when we got to the hotel up in Portland, I took my first dose of two lozenges. I like that they can either be chewed or just dissolved in the mouth…a big plus for me because I can’t swallow pills. I have to either chew them or let them dissolve. And they don’t taste half bad, either. They have some kind of blueberry flavoring in them, which is not bad at all.
I received a 7-day supply, in the box just like the one shown above. I took two lozenges every day until they ran out. And not only did I not get sick after the Maine Brewers Festival, I also went to the New Hampshire Brewers Festival a week later, as well as the Drink Craft Beer dinner on Sunday night…still didn’t get sick after being in a crowd with a lot of people.
I want to add that I was also taking 500 mg of Vitamin C every day, have been since last year. I think that maybe that, along with these elderberry lozenges, saved me from getting so disgustingly sick so that I’d have had to miss all of these great events.
I’m out of them now, but I might order more, even though they are on the pricey side. They won’t get here before the Granite State Baseball Dinner this Saturday, another place where I’ll be in close proximity to a lot of people. But hopefully, they will still keep me from getting sick at all during this very nasty flu season!
So…my opinion…this product, Respiratory Guard, may well be worth trying!
