I want pizza

September 05, 2008 christine has spoken

I live in hell.  I want pizza, but I don’t have enough cash.  I used to be able to order online at Papa John’s and pay with my debit card, but the location that used to deliver here is closed.  We drove past it once just to see what the deal was…the Papa John’s sign is still there, but the sign on the door said CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS.  Will it re-open as a Papa John’s, or some other pizza place?  Who knows?  We’ll find out eventually, though.

There are other pizza places around here that deliver, but most don’t take credit/debit cards.  Even if they did, you have to call, and I don’t feel comfortable giving my CC# over the phone to someone I’m not sure I can trust.  I loved the online ordering because the website is secure, the people at the Papa John’s place never had to see my CC/debit card numbers.

I know that Domino’s has online ordering, but their pizza is some nasty-assed shit, in my opinion.  I know that a lot of people do like it, but I think it’s awful, I think that many brands of frozen pizza from the grocery store is better than that crap.

Papa Gino’s also has online ordering, but not at the location that will deliver to us.  Once again, I’m not about to call and give my CC# to some teenager who might use my card to buy video games or something online.  Their pizza is good, but not as good as Papa John’s.

So I walked out to The Skeevy Corner Store, to see if their ATM was finally working.  That damned thing has been out of order for ages now.  And nope, the damned thing was still not working.  Fuck!

I know of other places that have ATMs, but honestly, I’m too scared to walk too far around here these days.  I’m scared of the gangs of kids I see walking around.  I feel a bit safer when school is in session, and I try to only go out then.  But at the time, school was just letting out, and as it was, I was harassed by a gang of teens on the way back from The Skeevy Corner Store.  Probably a good thing I couldn’t withdraw any cash from the ATM, if they saw that, they probably would have robbed me.

So I finally just emailed Mike and asked him to stop at the store and get me a package of Stouffer’s French Bread Pizza.  It’s far better than that nasty Domino’s shit…in fact, it’s rather tasty.

I need to start keeping more cash at home, for such emergencies.  Papa John’s has spoiled me, and I really hope this location opens back up, as a Papa John’s.  I miss then so very, very much. :(
