Ick
I’ve officially got a cold. No flu symptoms, just a cold. I took some real Sudafed for it, and it’s not so bad right now. But I asked Mike to bring me home some of that Zicam cold remedy stuph, I need to get rid of this thing by Friday if possible. That’s when we are headed up to Maine for the beer festival; I’d like to be able to drink the beer, yanno?
My new George Foreman grill arrived today; I had it sent to Mike’s work so that the Evil Post Office or FedEx can’t lose it.  I will be doing a video review of it on this very blog, it will probably be up early next week. I don’t know exactly which model grill they’ve sent me, we’ll find out tonight when Mike gets home.
I think I’ll donate my old one to the Salvation Army…it still works fine. They can sell it in one of their thrift stores. More people are buying stuph in thrift stores these days, but donations are down. I should actually round up a whole bunch of stuph we’re not using and take it all over there.
I hear that the need is so bad this year, that they are starting their bell-ringing season early, in the hope of taking in more donations. Even though they are a religious organization, I still give to them because they do a lot of good work. This is the only charity that hangs around outside of supoermarkets that I will give to. I won’t give to the punk kids collecting money for their sports teams, especially because they hurl verbal abuse at people who walk past without donating. I’ve been the victim of such verbal abuse many, many times, I’ve complained to Stop & Shop (where this most often has happened), but they don’t care. They continue to allow these little punks to be out there, harassing their customers. This is one reason we rarely shop there these days.
But the Salvation Army bell-ringers just stand there and ring their bells, and when someone puts money in the kettle, they say thank you. They don’t yell at anyone for not giving money. I usually stick a buck or two into a kettle every time I pass one, and so does Mike.
So I’m just gonna try and take it easy, and hope this Zicam stuph works. At least it does not seem to be the flu!
