Is YOUR arm 37 inches long?
I didn’t think so!
Have you ever tried to take a picture of yourself, but it didn’t come out well because you couldn’t stretch your arm out long enough to get a good shot? How about wanting to take a pic of you and other people you’re with, and get everyone in the shot? Sometimes, you don’t feel like you can entrust a stranger with your camera to take the pic, and it’s not always feasible to set up a traditional tripod to do it.
So, what to do? Not much, until I heard of a nifty new gadget called the XShot. This is basically a hand-held *tripod*, that telescopes out to 37 inches. When it’s closed, it’s only nine inches long, and it is small and lightweight enough to carry anywhere. You can stick it in the back pocket of your jeans, or tuck it into a purse or tote bag.
I learned about this gadget from Drew, who does the Photo A Day whosit that I have at the top of this blog. He got one of these things to test and review, and then he blogged about it.
I immediately knew that I had to have one. It’s one of those cool inventions that makes you slap yourself upside the head, and wonder, ‘why didn’t I think of that?’ The fact that it sells for just $24.95 was also a selling point, as was the $5.50 off coupon code that Drew gave on his site. NO, I won’t post the code here, I’m going to make you go to his site to get it. Oh…and you have to do it by July 15. If you’re going to get a discount code, the least you can do is visit his site to get it. It’s a really nice blog, and I always look forward to the Photo A Day. But I do have an ulterior motive for that, though!
