It has begun
The whole thing I predicted, about people dumping their trash outside our house, so that they can get out of paying to have it picked up, and blame someone else for putting it out, instead.
It wasn’t a bag of stinky garbage, though, thank goodness. It was a very large and ugly entertainment center. You have to buy a sticker for $20 to get something like this picked up. Whoever put it out did it in the middle of the night last night, as it was there when Mike left for work this morning, and it was still there when he came home. We know the landladies didn’t put it there, we would have heard all of the noise involved with people hauling it down the stairs. Nope, someone dumped it here on purpose, knowing that the homeowner would be stuck with a fine and disposal fee.
Fortunately, just a few minutes ago, I heard some clumping around outside. I peeked outside, and saw some skeevy looking guy dragging the thing over to a skeevy looking van that was held together with duct tape, and loading it into said van. Good! He can have it! At least now we, or the landladies, will not be hit with a fine for allegedly putting it out there.
I am sure it won’t be long before people start dumping their stinky kitchen trash here, so they can get out of buying those $20 boxes of garbage bags. I wish there were some good way to install a hidden camera, so we can see who does it, and report them. Not that the town officials would care, anyway, they’d just slap us and/or the landladies with a fine, or else we’d have to bag it up in the expensive garbage bags that we bought, because that is cheaper than the fine.
Criminals get away with a LOT around here. I really hope that the petition that we signed on Election Day does some good, and that this garbage tax will be repealed. If this were a more upscale town, it might have worked, but as it is, there’s a lot of skeeve here, and the whole thing was very poorly thought out.

Right now, I am waiting for my bread machine to start kneading. I am using the whole wheat cycle, and it has to warm up a bit first before the kneading starts. I am making the Mustard Wheat-Rye Sammich Bread that I put in this post. Out of all of the rye breads I have made in my machine, this is the tastiest. I’ll probably end up eating it all tomorrow, and then bring on the Lipovox!
I use a TON a caraway seeds, because rye bread that does not contain caraway seeds does not deserve to exist, at least in my opinion. This time, I also added some Deli Rye Flavoring, which does boost that yummie rye bread flavor. For the mustard, this time I scraped the bottoms of a couple of nearly empty jars to get the 1/3 cup I needed…Dijon, Hearty Spicy Brown…and topped it off with some Harvest Coarse Ground…all from Grey Poupon. I love all of these, and keep them around all the time now.
A good loaf of bread always makes me feel better after people annoy me.

Thankfully we live in an apartment now but it was just a couple months ago we were in a house and people down the street did that to us. They put several bags of garbage. We actually went thru the bag to see if we could find mail to tell us the house it came from. When we did, we put the trash bags back in their yard.
How annoying!
