Terror Alert Level

It LIVES!

Maybe some of you noticed that I haven’t been around over the past few days. Well, I started feeling kind of icky on Tuesday night, and by Wednesday morning, I was down for the count. Damned stomach virus thing again. Same damned thing that I had in Vegas. It’s nothing short of misery. It took every effort to get up to go to the bathroom and gack, never mind make it as far as the computer.

It’s hard to take any sort of medicine for this when it won’t stay down. But when I went all day yesterday without gacking, last night I chugged a bit of NyQuil, even though I don’t actually have a cold. I did it for the knockout qualities it has…I was desperate for some sleep.

Well, sleep must have worked, because I feel much better now. I woke up covered with sweat, it felt like all of ickies were oozing out of every pore. It had that sickly-sweet smell. Of course, it didn’t help that I hadn’t been able to take a shower since Tuesday.

It felt so good to finally be able to take a shower and scrub all of that ick off of me.

Now I just have to chase all the cats off the bed so that I can change the sheets. The easiest way to do that is to give them a bit o’ the ‘nip out in the kitchen, and them close the bedroom door so that I can do sheet-changing in peace. Otherwise, they think it’s a game, and end up trapped under the fitted sheets
———-
My new camera is due to arrive today. UPS tracking says it is out on the truck for delivery. At least now I won’t frighten the UPS guy when I answer the door! :D

My digital TV converter box coupons still haven’t arrived yet. We never got any mail at all on Tuesday, which is kind of odd. Most of our real mail goes to the P.O. box, but we still get tons of junk mail here. I wonder if whoever the Lame-Assed Mail Carrier of the Day was decided to blow off his route and hang out and drink at the Honey Fitz for the day. I have heard of stuff like this happening, the mail is often found in a dumpster someplace. And you know it would have to happen on a day when I was actually expecting something other than the usual pile of junk.

I wish I could have had them sent to the P.O. box, but they say you can’t, not if you can get mail delivered to your street address. Well, that issue is negotiable, but technically, it exists, so they had to mailed that way or no way.

I hope that one day, the Evil Post Office burns to the ground, with nobody in it but that bastard of a postmaster. He’s the reason why the place is so evil, and why nobody competent want to work there. I think that the Postal Service sends people to work there for punishment. And then they just keep doing the same stuff they’re being punished for. But you know how it is…very hard to fire civil servants.
———-
So now I have a lot to catch up on, while I wait for the mail and the UPS guy. If they both come early enough, I can run out to the maul and get a converter box, that is, if my coupons are actually there.

We shall see.

  • Glad to hear you’re back among the living! Start drinking green tea – -it really works as an immune booster — I am living proof — everyone in this office has been down and out with the flu or something equally awful over the past 4 weeks and here I am chugging along all healthy and happy. Hubby has had one cold after another and for the first time in I can’t remember when I’ve gone all winter without a sniffle.

Now when allergy season gets here in a month or so, that might be totally different, but germ-wise, I’m good.

I see you found EntreCard — it’s certainly worked for me to drive new traffic to my site. I also see some people got PR back this month. Maybe there is hope yet. — No, that’s really being a pollyanna, isn’t it?

Thanks, Maggie. I’ve heard about this on TV, but now it’s good to know from a real person that it works. I’ll have to get some next time I go to the supermarket.

No PR back for me this time, but we shall see. Entrecard is a lot of fun, though! :D
