It was a nice day

So we went to the Members’ Day stuph at the Seashore Trolley Museum. The weather was gorgeous.
Anyway, one of the “members only” cars that we could ride was this mail car, pictured above with Mike, which comes from Portsmouth, NH. I wonder what hospital paid to have it restored. Because what you CAN’T see from this pic is that those steps are about two feet away from the entrance to the car. I was all set to ride on this thing, until I saw that Hugh Jass gap, and I said, No Fucking Way. I told Mike that he could go on it alone, but I was not going to risk falling through the gap, breaking a leg, ending up in some shithole hospital, and then having to miss out on the Maine Brewers Festival due to being in a cast and on crutches. Or still in the hospital, given the way the shithole places around here operate.
I’m not as steady on my feet as I once was, no way do I feel good about stepping over a gap that big and not falling down into it. You’d think that with the large amount of old geezers who are members of this place, most of who are way older than we are, that they’d make boarding a special car easier?
But whogizzashit? I flat out said NO, I AM NOT going on this thing, okay, Mike could if he wanted to, I wasn’t going to stop him. I’d just sit somewhere, or ride some other trolley car that didn’t involve me having to jump over the Grand Canyon and put me in hell for DOG knows how long.
He didn’t go on it, we both went on this other trolley car that we’d ridden a hundred times before.
So Members’ Day was just another day at the museum, nothing special. But Mike got his trolley car fix. He didn’t even make me stay there as long as I’d expected…he got tired and bored, and was ready to go to Federal Jack’s. With NO nagging from me!
But now there is some sort of “Transit Day” thing there next month. I will go, as long as Federal Jack’s is at the other end!
Anyhoo, this is a pic of us on one of the trolleys we did ride…it’s an old one from New York. I used my XShot and the self-timer on my camera to take it.

Didn’t know there was a place like this thanks for sharing this memory. Maybe I can go there someday. Thanks Kim
