It wasn’t even a real bomb…
The Hillary Clinton office hostage standoff is over. Story here. Thank goodness nobody was hurt.
Anyhoo, this guy is in deep shit now…even though it wasn’t a real bomb. I wonder where he’ll be spending the rest of his days…federal prison, or the looney bin? He seems to me to be a few beers short of a six-pack, and probably does have mental health issues.
It’s always scary when things like this happen, but it’s especially scary because it’s relatively close to home for us. As you know, we’re not that far from the New Hampshire border, and Rochester isn’t all that far up north. It’s inland from the seacoast towns, near the Maine border. We’ve driven through this town before. It’s just a typical little New England town. The main reason that all of these candidates have offices there are because of the NH primaries that will be held in January.
But there are crazies everywhere. No doubt in the days to come, we’ll find out more about this guy, and why he did what he did.
Like any political candidate, Hillary likes to have attention for her campaign. But I don’t think she appreciated this kind of attention!
Oh…and I haven’t decided if I want to vote for her or not. There’s still time before the Massachusetts primary to decide. I’m in the position where I could vote in whichever primary I want to, Democrat or Republican. My voter registration is “unenrolled”. That means that I can walk into the polling place, tell them which primary I want to vote in, and they’ll register me with that party. On the way out, I can unregister and go back to “unenrolled”.
I like having all of my options open when exercising my “bitching rights” (if you don’t vote, I feel you have no right to bitch about whoever gets elected). I also don’t agree with either the Democrats or Republicans across the board. For instance, I support a woman’s right to choose, as well as same sex marriage. I strongly believe in the whole “separation of church and state” thing, which some people who are currently in office seem to have forgotten about. I’d also love to see a national health care plan…but I don’t like some of the ideas that some candidates have put forward. John Edwards will never get my vote now, since his plan would force people to go to the doctor once a year, whether they want/need to or not. I’ve made my position quite clear on that issue!
But on the other hand, I also support the right for law-abiding citizens to own guns. It’s hard to find one candidate who agrees with everything I agree with.
I try to just judge each candidate on their own merits, and not think about which political party they belong to. Maybe if more people put that much thought into voting, things would be much better than they are now.
