Just goofin' off…
I have some work I need to finish before we leave for our weekend in Sturbridge tomorrow. I’d like to try and get than done tonight and get it out of the way. Any new work that comes my way once we leave tomorrow will just have to wait until after the weekend!
I also have laundry to do…just a load or two, that’s it. But guess what…MC Hammer is back, complete with ginormous van in our parking space. He’s been futzing around with power tools again down in the basement, where our washer and dryer are, and I really want to avoid him. He looks kind of skeevy, and no one else is home in this building right now…not the landladies, and not Mike. I just have a funny feeling about this guy. So I’ll wait until he leaves and then start my laundry.
But here I am, goofing off and watching judge shows and stuff on daytime TV. I don’t sit around watching these things all the time, because my brain would severely rot away if I did. But sometimes they’re good for mindless entertainment.
Most of the commercials seem to be for medical assistant schools, title loan companies, and personal injury attorneys. There seem to be dozens of them here, and most of them advertise during the day and late at night. I guess that’s because people who are recovering from injuries are likely to be home, bored, and watching TV. It’s like this anywhere in the U.S….even if you’re in a place like North Carolina, you’ll no doubt see ads during “Judge Judy” for a Raleigh personal injury lawyer.
I’m not one for frivolous lawsuits, but there may come a time when it’s necessary to get legal assistance, mostly to get insurance companies to pony up. Insurance companies are in the business of trying to screw you over and pay out as little as possible. I tend to agree with the lawyer ads that say to never sign any papers that an insurance company puts in front of you, in terms of a settlement, unless you consult with an attorney. Many times, the settlement is way too small, and not enough to live on and cover medical bills while you are recovering. A good lawyer will get you the money that’s rightfully yours, and that’s THAT!
My fellow New Englanders will get that last sentence!
Anyway, Mike will be home in about an hour, so I should quit goofing off and get some stuff done, before going out to Best buy to pick up my new printer.
