What? They REALLY DID? Cool balls!

Yep, we’re still basking in the glory of our team’s victory. But I find it amusing to get emails from people congratulating ME on the big victory. It’s not as if I personally did anything to help them win. Hell, I didn’t even go to any Sox games this year! Tickets are very expensive and hard to come by.

No, I didn’t get my refund from the evil TracFone yet. But I may have some other news regarding another issue…don’t want to post details just yet. I’m still thinking about things now, but once I come to a decision, I’ll spill!

Back to the Red Sox…I sure wish we’d bought some furniture back in early April! There’s this local chain that had something called “The Monster Deal”. The deal was that if you bought furniture during the promotional period, and the Red Sox ended up winning the World Series, that furniture will be free…the store would issue refunds.

They had over 30,000 customers, sold millions of dollars worth of furniture. The store owners took out an insurance policy to make the payout. I doubt that this insurance company will issue a policy like this again, now that they actually have to pay out! But it was a cool promo, very successful for the store.

It would have been nice if we’d bought someting at the time. Maybe some pieces of Bush furniture, or a new couch. I really wish we’d gone for a couch; I’m tired of this futon that we have.

Oh, well. But how cool for those 30,000+ people who DID get free furniture!
