Money, money, money…
…and a lot of it, did it cost for those Spamalot tickets! But I hear that it will be well worth it, so I don’t mind.
I don’t think that the weather will affect us going on Sunday. Yeah, it will be VERY cold, but at least there won’t be a foot of snow on the ground. The storm yesterday was pretty much just rain around here, that washed away a lot of the old snow.
We are supposed to get maybe an inch of snow Saturday night, but that’s nothing.
Mike actually thought ahead and bought us Charlie Cards for the T. This is the new fare system with the T, I personally hate it, but what choice do we have? Driving and parking in Boston is far worse…very irritating, and expensive, too. But only for Monty Python would I suck it up and take the T.
They sell the Charlie Cards pre-loaded with money at Shaw’s. It’s good that he thought to pick them up, because who knows how well the machines that sell them at the T station will work? That’s partly why I hate this system…most times when I’ve tried to use it, the machines were not working properly. Oh, I do miss the good old days of TOKENS.
Anyhoo, today’s Monty Python song -Â The Money Song.
And, as a bonus, here’s the song that is the reason why the MBTA (formerly the MTA) calls their new fare cards “Charlie” cards – Charlie on the MTA. Maybe they knew that if the machines didn’t work properly, the “Charlies” of today would also “never return”.
Please right-click to save, or else you will also ride forever ‘neath the streets of Boston…and trust me, it is NOT fragrant down there!

They have done a pretty good job at this point of working out the kinks in the Charlie Card/Ticket system.
I take the T once a week every week now, and my hubby takes it 4 days a week, and we have not run into any kinks for months.
I reload mine about every couple of weeks and it goes on just fine. Hubby’s pass goes on just fine every month now as well.
And all the stations have switched over fully, so there isn’t this buy a ticket at one and can’t use it on the other end anymore.
