Terror Alert Level

Please help Jenn’s brothers

I have been made aware of a very disturbing and heartbreaking situation.  Jenn, a blogging friend of mine, has asked for help.  Jenn herself is an adult, married with two kids of her own.  But it’s her mom, Carolyn, that needs help.  The local CPS has taken her two sons, Jenn’s younger brothers, away from her, based on allegations that are totally false.  And now Jenn and her mom are fighting to get the boys back.  They’ve created a blog, Save My Boys, which hopes to get as much exposure as possible, in order to get CPS to realize that they did wrong and return the boys to Carolyn’s custody.

Rather than repeat all of the sordid details here, I urge you to read this post, which outlines the truth about what really happened.  Also please read Carolyn’s account of the truth.

This whole thing makes me sick.  Over and over again, I hear on the news about children being beaten, raped, and otherwise abused by their own parents.  In many of these cases, CPS had been called to the homes, and absolutely NOTHING was done.  They claim that they have huge caseloads and are overworked.

This seems to be the case with CPS in every state.  So, if they are so overworked, where did they find the time to mess with Carolyn and her family?  Would that time and effort not have been better spent going after people who actually did abuse their kids?

And to anyone who thinks that these boys would be better off in foster care than with their mother…there have been news stories about kids being abused and even killed while in the system.  There is a serious shortage of good foster parents, so often, the state will accept anyone with a pulse.  Many of these people just take in kids for the money the state pays them, and don’t care about them at all.

Don’t believe me?  Then click HERE.  And then HERE.  And HERE.  And HERE, too.  I could go on and on, but I won’t.  Okay, so in most of these cases, the parents deserved to have their kids taken away.  But how are foster homes necessarily any better than what they left?  And in the case of Carolyn and her sons, they could be put at risk for NO GOOD REASON.  That makes it all the more worse.

Both of these boys have medical issues, and Carolyn has been doing what’s needed to address them the whole time.  Carolyn herself is disabled, and it pisses me off that some bureaucrat has decided that she is not fit to raise her children.

I urge you to read that blog, and do whatever you can to help.  You can offer advice, or you can just post to your own blog and spread the word.  CPS is supported by us, the taxpayers.  As such, they need to spend the money going after people who are really abusing their kids, rather than victimizing a family on the basis of nothing more than fabrications and lies.

When people really are abusing their kids, yes, they need to be punished.  But how is it helping kids who ARE beng abused, when CPS wastes time, money, and effort going after innocent people?

Thanks for reading!

  • Christine, thank you so much for taking the time to blog about our situation. It was very generous of you to just post the link to savemyboys.com, but to include your own opinion, words and accounts with it means so much to my mother and I.

It infuriates us to know that so many children are being beaten, raped and killed while C&Y is busy wreaking havoc in our lives. I don’t understand it. And we’re scared to death about the possibility of my ten year old brother being moved from the emergency shelter (we’ve checked it out, very nice, huge staff as it’s a regular center, video cameras, the works) to a foster family, because of things happening like what is outlined in the stories you linked to above.

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to blog about our plight. My mother and I know that going to the internet alone may not be enough to solve our case and return my brothers back to her custody and care, but C&Y knowing that the public knows may make them re-think their BS and quickly expedite their little processes.

    Thank you again. :)
