Saturday Stuph

June 30, 2007 User Imagechristine (Who am I?) has spoken

Busy day today! We did our usual Saturday trek to the Good Post Office to collect mail, then lunch, then grocery shopping. In about an hour, we’re off to a ball game…tonight it is the North Shore Spirit vs. the Nashua Pride…independent league ball.

I bought the tickets because I got an e-mail newsletter from the Spirit, saying that former Sox pitched Rich Garces (the famed “El Guapo”) is now playing for the Pride. I knew that he retired from the Red Sox a few years ago, but I guess he got bored and wanted to play ball someplace. And I’m sure his presence helps to sell tickets.

So I’m charging up my new “El Cheapeau” video camera, and I’m going to see if I can get some footage of El Guapo tonight. I hope they bring him in to pitch at least one inning, or I’m going to be disappointed.

I’m still trying to figure out all of the various things I can do with the new camera. I’m such a technological dork, it’s not funny. I hope I get get it down pat enough tonight, so that I can do a video of the Amazon gift cert drawing tomorrow. I also need to figure out how to upload stuph to YouTube. It can’t be that hard, since so many people are doing it.

Yet another reason for me to love the Market Basket supermarket in Tewksbury, where we went today. This place is not far from Mike’s work, and is also near the Piccadilly Pub we like so much, as well as the Good Post Office. I already love this place because it has great quality meats and produce, and the prices are lower than the shithole Stop & Schlop chain, as well as Shaw’s. I already mentioned a few days ago that I have decided to boycott the entire Stop & Schlop chain. Every single one of their stores that I have ever set foot in, in my entire life, has been a dump, with the rudest, surliest employees on the planet. Some stores are better than others, granted…but in my experience, they are all dumps. I honestly can’t believe that they can run the business this way, given the fact that we have PLENTY of other grocery shopping options. Shaw’s, for the most part, is okay. I LOVE Hannaford, but wish they’d build some new stores closer to us. DeMoulas/Market Basket is not all that close to us, either, but that one in Tewksbury is convenient, as I mentioned above.

Some of the DeMoulas/Market Basket stores are a bit on the skeevy side…there is one up in Salem, NH, that is REALLY skeevy…but the Tewksbury one is really nice.
