Some very expensive milk & cookies!
Yes, here is yet another installment of Christine’s Weird Dreams!
I don’t remember every detail…I was living in some apartment in New Jersey that I lived in 20 years ago, but I was living there with Mike.
I went across the street to the corner store, and when I got thee, I noticed that I didn’t button/zip up my pants. So I did that, and hoped that nobody saw. I selected a half gallon of milk, and a large bag of Hostess chocolate chip cookies (do they even really make big, soft cookies, as these were?), that was marked with a price of $5.99.
When I got to the register, there were people in front of me buying newspapers. The lady behind the counter was tearing holes in each paper as it was paid for, as proof that it was paid for. I didn’t buy a newspaper, but when it was my turn to pay, she told me that my milk and cookies would cost $30. For some reason, I didn’t think anything of this, and I paid her the $30. Then she insisted on stamping my hand, as proof that I paid. She stamped me with one of those date stamps that they use to put the due dates on library books (do they even still use those things?).
On the way home, I was trying to figure out a way to get out of going to work. In my dreams, a recurring theme is me trying to get out of going to school, but this time it was work. I thought about driving Mike to work so that I could have the car, and then I’d drive up to York Beach and spend the day there. But then, I decided I didn’t want to deal with the I-93 traffic coming out of Boston during rush hour.
I don’t know if this was part of the same dream, or a different one, but I remember something about a ginormous grey cat…with EIGHT eyes. He had regular eyes where they are supposed to be, and then three more eyes on each side, going horizontally. That was one strange looking cat. He was also wearing those reindeer antlers that some people like to put on their pets at Christmas time.
Very strange!
