The light at the end of the tunnel…

…or so I hope!

As I mentioned a few days ago, we stopped at the MicroCenter store in Cambridge on the way out to the Mass Pike heading for Sturbridge…not really that inconvenient because there’s an exit not far from there. We found a power supply for my computer that we hope will work, for only $15. The only thing is that it appears to be a mirror image of the old one, they all seemed to be that way. But it’s the exact same size and wattage and all, so hopefully it will still work anyway. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on something for an old computer…if it came to cost too much, I’d be looking towards a whole new computer instead. In fact, I still am, but I want to take my time, shop around, and get something that I really want at a good price, rather than buy the cheapest thing in the store just to have a computer on which I can have DSL. I think I want a laptop, with both a CD and DVD burner, if possible…as well as something with a LOT more gigs of real estate than I have now.

We just got back from our weekend trip about an hour ago. Mike will try to install the new power supply later this evening, right now, he’s resting and I’m still using the crappy Dell laptop. But hopefully, it will work and I’ll have my DSL back!

When we were at MicroCenter, I had to go to the ladies’ room. I had to flush the toilet in there more than once, because the stuff therein did not go all the way down the first time. I think it is gross to go to a public restroom and be faced with a toilet with the last person’s *business* still in it. I realize that sometimes it doesn’t go all the way down the first time. I also realize that some people are just plain gross and don’t even bother to flush. Anyhoo, since I don’t want to gross out the next person who uses that stall, I always wait and make sure my business went all the way down before I leave, if it didn’t, I’ll flush it again until it does.

So at the MicroCenter ladies’ room, when I came out of the stall, there was this old lady standing there. She could not have been waiting to use my stall, because there were other empty ones there. She was just standing there, and as I went to the sink to wash my hands, she asked,

Are you having bathroom problems, dearie?

For once, I was speechless. Yeah, strangers say stupid stuff to me all the time, but this was a first. Since when does one ask a stranger about *bathroom problems*? I just shot her a filthy look, washed and dried my hands, and left.

I should have said,

Yes, I DO have a *bathroom problem*. I have a problem with people like you in bathrooms who ask questions about things that are none of their business!

I bet this is the sort of woman who, if she has any grown children who moved away from her home, wonders why they never visit or call her. Hell, she can’t even let a stranger use the bathroom without getting the Spanish Inquisition, I can only imagine what she did to her own children. She did look old enough to be my own mother.

Just because someone reaches a certain age, does NOT give them the right to be rude to others! Sheesh!
