The scissors have spoken!
I lopped off my hair today. Not all of it, it’s kinda chin-length. Long-time readers know that I regularly lop off my own hair…I’ve yet to find a hairdresser who’s not been an ass and talked down to me while I was in his or her chair. And most of them have done shitty jobs. When I realized that I could do better myself, so I’ve done so ever since.
And. as has been my tradition, money that I don’t spend on uppity hairstylists gets donated to the North Shore Animal League. I’ve been doing this for years now.
When my hair gets long enough to be annoying, I pull it up into a high ponytail right after a shower, while my hair is still wet. I pull it up into a ponytail, fasten with an elastic, and then cut off the ponytail. This actually gives a decent layered look. And then I just go around and trim here and there until I’m happy with it.
We’re going away for the weekend, and I wanted a new cut because my hair was looking like crap, it had gotten too long. It’s not like we’re going on any caribbean cruises or anything, we’re just going to Old Sturbridge Village. But shorter hair looks better on me, and is easier to take care of.
And, believe it or not, when Mike came home from work, he actually NOTICED it. Usually, it takes him three or four days for it to sink in that I don’t have as much hair as I used to.
