Thirty-three minutes

Friday, 8 February 2008, 18:51

Mike’s doctor appointment was for 4PM. He got home at exactly 4:33. What is wrong with this picture?

It takes about ten minutes to get from the doctor’s office to home. So make that more like twenty-three minutes, probably less, because he wasn’t seen on time. And most of the time, he saw nurses, (or, more likely, bimbos from the local medical assistant schools, the ones you see advertised on cheesy daytime TV). He saw the actual doctor for maybe ten minutes.

WHY are these doctors making all of the damned money, while hard-working nurses don’t make jack shit?

Yeah, Mike got The Lecture, that was most of the appointment. Mike pretty much told the guy to fuck off, although he agreed to letting them take blood for blood work crap. But once again, he said NO to the surgery, and NO to a suggested CATscan.

Hell, if he wants a CATscan, I can do it for free here at home. I have a scanner, I have cats…what more do I need? :D

Mike did try to tell Dr. Q about the ridiculous bills from Masshole General for the so-called *second opinion* about the cancer and all…said second opinions were issued BEFORE a colonoscopy was done (and said procedure found NOTHING, once it was done). The Masshole General doctors were just pushing for the unnecessary surgery, and we got a bill for $3,000 for the privilege. All they did was TALK to him, they didn’t look at him, do any procedures, nothing. We had to fight with the insurance company to get them to pay, they finally did but not before we got turned over to collections. In fact, I believe that Masshole General turned us over to collections BEFORE we ever got a bill from them.

But Dr. Q didn’t seem to care. After all, aren’t all his patients dripping out the pores with money, as he is? Sometimes I really fucking hate rich people, when they have no idea as to what it’s like to be a regular working person.

At least it was short, and he did agree to renew the meds that Mike is still taking. But he still has to go get the blood work done, and then he has to see Dr. Q again in three months…sigh.

But at least it’s over. Better him than me…I’d be going ballistic if I had to have meds and regular doctor appointments. Technically, I know I have problems where most people would nag me to go to a doctor, but it ain’t gonna happen. But other than the light therapy for my Seasonal Affective Disorder, I won’t be talking about them here. I’ll only say that I’m trying out alternative treatments, so far with good luck!

There is no way at this point in time that I could visit a traditional doctor, and not end up being arrested for assault or even murder by the end of the appointment. Trust me on this one!
