Thursday Thtuph…
I’m a little pissed at Amazon right now. They split up my order…AGAIN, and the knitting and crocheting DVDs have yet to be shipped. Only the Christina Cooks book has been shipped, and, as I feared, it will soon be at the mercy of the Evil Post Office. But Amazon can’t ship to a P.O. box if you use the free shipping, because you never know which carrier they will use…sometimes they use UPS, and that has to go to a street address. I wonder…if I opt for paid shipping, would they ship it via whatever carrier I tell them to? The only other option would be to try having my Amazon packages shipped to Mike’s office. That would bypass the Evil Post Office completely.
And who knows when they’ll ship my DVDs? I hope they don’t end up having to put them on backorder forever…I’ve had that happen with Amazon before, and it’s VERY frustrating. When I placed the order, it said that the item ships within one business day. I hate it when they say things that aren’t accurate.
Why do I have the feeling that I just threw almost forty bucks down the toilet, for stuph that I might never receive? I know they won’t charge me for the DVDs until they ship them, but dammit, PLEASE use UPS to ship them, so that I’ll actually GET them. But I may well be out the thirteen bucks for the book, though. Should have paid the $18.95 at Barnes & Noble, when I saw it there. But NOOOO, I just HAD to try to save a few bucks.
If they’d shipped them all together, there would have been a higher likelihood of them using UPS, and I wouldn’t have this problem. WHY do they always ignore the fact that I tick off that box that says “Group my order into as few shipments as possible”? Why do they even have that, when half the time, they have to ship things from different warehouses? Very, very frustrating.

Last night I asked Mike to pick up the ingredients for Kat’s meatball recipe. I clearly specified that I wanted PLAIN frozen meatballs, but he came back with ‘Italian style”. Store brand (Market Basket). He said that was all they had, and I believe him. I haven’t gone to the store myself looking for frozen meatballs lately, so I have no idea what stores carry what kinds. I’ll have to look for myself next time I’m in a grocery store.
He got the grape jelly and BBQ sauce right, though. Kind of hard to screw those up. I know they make different types of BBQ sauce, but I told him to just get the store brand original kind. I don’t want mesquite flavor or anything like that, not for this recipe.
So hopefully, this won’t taste odd with the Italian meatballs. It’s just Italian seasoning, which is usually a mixture of basil, parsley and oregano. I’m a little annoyed that this was all the store had, that they just ASSume that all meatballs are cooked in tomato sauce, Italian style. But I’m going to go ahead with the recipe anyway, and hope that the Italian seasoning won’t be awful with the grape jelly/BBQ sauce.
I’ll let you know how it comes out! ![]()

They should turn out ok with the Italian style, I’ve made them several times, both with barbecue sauce & with spaghetti sauce & it’s really hard to do anything to make them not taste yummy!
