Tuesday tstuph…
So the old toaster oven is gone…I put it out on the curb yesterday, and someone took it within a couple of hours. Someone always does. I wasn’t sure if the garbage man would take it or not, some things they won’t take. But that’s usually not a problem, we have a lot of trash-pickers around here. It’s amazing as to what some people will take out of someone else’s trash.
I just hope that whoever took the toaster oven doesn’t come back asking for the rest of the parts. I left the rack and the drip pan in it when I put it out, but I don’t know where the rotisserie parts are. Yes, this one had a rotisserie in it. But it didn’t work very well, and I ended up buying one of those George Foreman rotisseries…works much better!
People DO knock on the door to ask for parts from things that are put out in the trash. Several years ago, the landladies upstairs bought a new couch, and they put the old one out with the trash…but without the cushions. Maybe they wanted to use the cushions for something else, I don’t know. Anyhoo, before the junk truck could come and take it away, some skeevy-looking guy, in a van that was held together with duct tape, knocked on my door and asked me if I had the cushions to the couch. I told him that it wasn’t my couch, so he rang the doorbell to upstairs. They actually gave him the cushions. I guess they were just happy not to have to pay the junk truck to take the couch away.
It’s amazing how people will complain about something they got for FREE. If whoever took the toaster oven comes back and asks for the rotisserie parts, I’ll play dumb and ask, ‘what toaster oven, I don’t know anything about any toaster oven’. Damned if I am going to spend any time looking for the rotisserie parts. Somebody got a free, albeit shitty quality, toaster oven, take it as is or leave it. Anything that anyone takes out of my trash is on an *as-is* basis. No refunds, no repairs, no spare parts. Just take it and be gone already!

No digital TV converter box coupons in the mail today…nothing but the usual junk mail. Maybe it won’t be ’til next week.
Now I am waiting for the UPS guy again. Today I have the replacement antenna for my XM receiver coming. I had ordered a replacement home cradle for it last week, because it had gotten fried, only to find that the antenna had somehow gotten fried, too. It’s a wonder the whole receiver didn’t get fried! In any case, once I have that antenna, I will be good to go for another baseball season…XM carries many Spring Training games, and ALL games from ALL teams for the regular and post season. Can’t live without it! ![]()

That’s it for the moment! ![]()
