Updating time…
…for those of you who are too lazy to read any of my other blogs. Links ARE in the right sidebar, yanno?
Okay…first, I’ve bitten the bullet and booked us a room at the Motel 6 in Sturbridge. We want to go there this coming weekend for the apple festival and stuph at Old Sturbridge Village, the fall foliage should be really pretty…but I really didn’t want to spend a fortune on a room. Not when we have the Maine Brewers Festival coming up less than a month later.
Our regular el cheapo place was fully booked when I called. At first, we weren’t going to go, because everything else was too expensive, and we didn’t want to just go for the day. The place that is now a Motel 6 doesn’t look like a Motel 6, because it used to be something else. I forget what, but it looked nice, at least from the outside. And this is Sturbridge, in the middle of the boonies, for goodness sakes…it’s not like we’d have to worry about drug dealers and whores hanging out in the lobby and the parking lot all night long. And the inside can’t be that bad…can it? Well, we shall soon find out.
The place also claims that they have WiFi access at this location, don’t know if it is free or not, but I will ask. Since Mike is taking a half day off on Friday so we can drive out there, so we will be there and can get to all of the members’ activities early on Saturday, he will be bringing his laptop home. Supposedly, he will work, but I will likely be using it to blog. Just like I did when we last went up to New Hamster for a weekend. He said I could use it, so it’s not a problem.
So anyway, we will see what this Motel 6 place is like. I hope it’s not a toilet. I actually hope it is nicer than the Heritage, because then I’d want to stay there when Mike wants to go to that ginormous train show out in western MA in January. It’s on the right side of the street for walking to the scrapbook store, as well as to the beer store, no having to play human Frogger crossing Route 20. No, I don’t go to the train show, I stay behind in the room. I would sooner gouge my eyes out with a rusty tire iron than go to that thing. Hell on earth, it is, but I book the weekend for Mike. And staying in a hotel and drinking beer is not such a bad thing!
But this weekend, it’s all about the Village. I love that place! I just hope the weather cooperates!
Well, that’s it for the moment. I just found an online version of Frogger, and it beckons!
