Well…
…I just forked over thirty bucks to buy a new cell phone charger. Rather than driving around to six million stores to look for one, I ordered one online from the Virgin Mobile website. Going to stores and malls, especially during this time of year, is not something I enjoy. So ordering it online is probably the best, quickest, and easiest way to get it already.
Now, you KNOW this means that I will find the old one. But that’s okay…the one I ordered is better. It’s a travel charger, it charges the phone up in as little as two hours. And since we’re always taking these weekend trips and all, something that charges the phone quickly is useful.
If I do find the old one, I’ll still use it at home when I have time…Mike says that quick charging things can kill the battery faster. I’m not sure I agree with that, though. When I bought my digital camera, I bought a whosit that charges the NiMH AA batteries in an hour. The original set of batteries is still in use, nearly five years later…okay, they don’t hold the charge quite as long as they used to, but I really don’t think the one-hour charger hurt them so much. I think it’s more because the batteries are getting old and have been used a lot.
I once lost that one-hour charger…actually, I just lost the charger. not the A/C adaptor for it. I went out to buy a new one, but could not find the same one. I ended up buying this other charger, a compact one that plugs directly into the wall. It’s fine, but it takes 12 hours for that to fully charge my camera batteries. I can only use that one when I think to plan ahead, and have time to charge batteries overnight or something.
I did find my one-hour charger, though, not long after I bought the other one. That’s why I think my other phone charger will turn up very soon.
I need a more organized storage system for all of my assorted plugs and chargers and stuph. I have so many of them now, it’s not funny. The car chargers/power cords for my iPod, cell phone, XM radio, portable fridge and Mike’s cell are all in the glove box in the car…which is where they belong, because it’s not like we can use any of those cords anywhere BUT in the car. But then, I also have indoor plugs and chargers…the aforementioned battery chargers, our cell chargers, my iPod A/C charger. My video camera charger, too. Then there’s the A/C cord for the mini-fridge, as well as the one for my portable TV, the one I have to have with me when we stay at a B&B that has no TV in the room. Just about all of this comes with us when we travel…I need to just buy a plastic toolbox or something, throw all of this stuph into it, and then throw said box into the car when we go away. If everything is kept in that box ALL THE TIME, then that would make it harder for me to lose anything, right?
At least I’d like to hope so! ![]()
