What’s your dream car?

February 29, 2008 User Imagechristine (Who am I?) has spoken

If you had the money to buy any car you wanted, what would it be?

I honestly don’t know what mine would be…I change my mind a lot. My practical side says that I should be happy with the Ford Focus econobox we’ve got, and really, I am. It’s a great car, great gas mileage, excellent value for the money. I certainly can’t complain.

But sometimes, I think it might be fun to have some sort of fancy car…such as a Beamer. It would be really fun to have one and customize it, get cool stuff like BMW wheels and all. This site has some awesome-looking styles, it would be hard to pick which I’d like the best.

Have you ever had the chance to drive one of these cars?  I did, once, a long time ago.  I used to work at this drugstore, and they had a part-time weekend pharmacist there named George.  He had a full-time job at another store during the week, but he would come in on Sundays to fill in when needed.  He must have been making some pretty decent coin, because he had a Beamer.

George was a fun guy to work with.  Business was usually pretty slow on Sundays, so we goofed off a lot.  One day, we decided we wanted pizza, but he couldn’t leave the store just in case someone came in and needed a scrip filled.  I was the only other person working, but I didn’t have my own car to get to the pizza place (I lived in walking distance of the drugstore).

So George tossed me his keys, and he said, “take my car”.  I’m like, “are you sure?”  He said he trusted me not to wreck hos beautiful black BMW, so off I went.

After I placed the order at the pizza shop, I went back to the car and drove it around the neighborhood…that was one sweet ride.  I wanted to drive that machine forever!

But I had to go back to pick up the pizza, and on the way back to the drugstore, I topped off the gas tank.  It was the least I could do, since I’d used his car for a mini-joyride.  And no, I didn’t wreck it!

Maybe I’m now too old and practical for a car like that now…but I really can understand why people covet these cars.  Awesome!
