WTF is the matter with people, part #5,875,895?
Why do people have pets and not take proper care of them?
As you probably know, we took in this little orange cat, who we named Pumpkin (aka PunkinApple and Puffball), a couple of months ago. It was clear that he had no home, and I was worried about what would happen to him if he were still living outside when it started to get cold.
So, I was feeding him outside for a while, to try to gain his trust so that I could bring him inside. Sometimes, there was this other cat, a little black kitty, who came by to partake of the food I gave out. This kitty wore a collar, so I suppose s/he had a home someplace.
After we took Pumpkin in, we didn’t see the black cat around for a while. It had gotten cold out, so we figured that maybe the owner had let the cat stay inside.
But no…on Saturday, we were driving on the back street behind the house, and Mike almost ran over this same black kitty. The cat had run out in front of our car as we were approaching, and it was a good thing that Mike was able to stop in time to avoid hitting it.
WTF is the matter with people? It is freakin’ COLD out, there is traffic all over the place, yet these dumbfucks let that poor kitty run around outside like this? Why do they even bother to have a cat in the first place, if they can’t keep it inside? They don’t deserve to have any pets!
I’m seriously tempted to start putting out food again, in the hope of coaxing the black kitty back this way again. Then I might cat-nap it. It’s a miracle that this kitty is not a frozen cat-sicle by now. We’ve had such a rough winter already as it is, and there’s still plenty of winter left.
Sometimes I really, really hate people.

That last line says it all and its something I say almost daily these days.
One thing that bugs the heck out of me is when people take in pets only to toss them outside. What’s the point in having pets if you don’t want them around?
But it is especially rotten when the weather is bad or it is freezing out.
