Not much going on around here at the moment. Just doing my usual stuph…checked email, forums, got a little work done, checked UPS tracking for a couple of items that I ordered.

One of the big things in the news here is about a huge fight at a Boston nightclub. It got so bad that shots were fired, police arrested the guy who allegedly was firing said gunshots.

What really got me was that the nightclub was hosting a Girls Gone Wild party when this happened. (Link is work-safe in that there are no pictures, it goes to a Wikipedia page, not the official GGW site, which I’m sure is NOT work-safe!) Hey, if you want to attract skeeve to your establishment, having a GGW camera crew there is the way to do it. The club brought this upon themselves for hosting those skeeves in the first place.

GGW is skeevy porn, and the guy who founded it, Joe Francis, went to jail for allegedly filing underaged girls, among other things. Any woman who knowingly goes to a GGW event and allows herself to get drunk and flash her boobs (and perhaps more) is almost as bad as the guys who peddle this crap. Where is self-respect and dignity here?

Many of these girls are college students, with good futures ahead of them. Why screw it up by risking being seen in a GGW video? Say one of these girls graduates college and is up for a good job? And then let’s say the boss has a bout of insomnia, and is sitting up channel-surfing? Say s/he hits one of those GGW infomercials that are on cable, and who does he see in it but the bright young woman s/he had just interviewed?

Unless one aspires to a career in the adult film industry, the best thing to do is stay far away from these GGW events.

Yesterday, we went to the Evil Stop & Schlop…the very one that I once swore never to set foot in again. It was kind of skeevy, the employees were rude and surly, etc. But I heard that they’ve since remodeled the place, and they had a really good price on lamb shoulder chops this week…$2.99 a pound there, vs. $4.29 a pound at Shaw’s. We figured that if the place still sucked, we could just leave and not return.

I will be writing a more detailed review in a bit, which will be over on Six Great States….since S&S is primarily a New England chain. I’m starting a new category over there about shopping, where I’ll talk about stores in the New England area. You know…which ones are good, which ones suck, etc. Anyway, that review will be up in a bit.

I wonder if my digital TV coupons will get here today. It’s the end of February now, so they should be getting here very soon.  I was not allowed to have them sent to the P.O. box at The Good Post Office, had to be a street address.  They only allow P.O. boxes if that is the absolute ONLY way you can get mail.  I was tempted to say that I can’t get mail here because the Evil Post Office sucks big fat hairy donkey ‘nads, but it wouldn’t wash.  Technically, there IS mail service here, it’s just in very rural areas where people have just a P.O. box.

I just hope the the Friendly and Efficient (NOT!) staff of the EPO do NOT lose this important piece of mail!
